THIS BASKET IS AN EXCLUSIVE I DESIGNED FOR THE BEEKMAN BOYS IN SHARON SPRINGS, NY.
It features a 12″x7″ solid bottom Shaker Cathead that when inverted forms the cover for this Pie Carrier. The base is a 13″ hand turned bread board (provided).

I designed the component parts to be used on a daily basis – the basket as a bread or fruit basket and of course a bread board or server. Only the strap and handle need to be stored until used to carry your pie (or layer cake).
Students will weave the solid bottom base using a Shaker technique. The basket itself will be woven on a mold.
Students will also learn to rivet leather to assemble the straps. The handle will be provided.

  1. Wow, this looks beautiful! Would love to get to weave this with you. Please keep me posted as to when you will teach this class. Not sure if I could attempt it on my own. Looks just beautiful!! I live on Long Island, camp at Indian Lake, hopefully it might work out. I’m weaving less than 2 years and love it!

    Baskets of cheer,

If and when I decide to teach this basket you will see it here. This is a basket I designed for Beekman 1802 and right now I am very busy just keeping up with demand and teaching other baskets
      Thanks for your interest
